The concept for Emerald Wall Street originated as a capstone project within the Entrepreneurship Track of the 2025 Links Leadership Academy (LLA) Cohort VI. Associate Dean Sharon R. Pinder introduced the idea as a way to harness the collective economic power of Link entrepreneurs via a national digital platform that connects businesses with consumers, increases visibility, and creates opportunities for growth. The concept was presented to National President Ethel Isaacs Williams, whose vision, leadership, and unwavering support transformed the idea into a national initiative. Recognizing the potential to create a lasting economic legacy for members of The Links, Incorporated, President Williams championed the development of a platform specifically curated to showcase the businesses, talents, products, and services of Link entrepreneurs nationwide.
The Why
Emerald Wall Street was created to answer a simple but powerful question:
How can we create a platform that encourages members of The Links, Incorporated, to support Link-owned businesses while showcasing the economic strength of Black women entrepreneurs?
The answer is Emerald Wall Street.
This platform provides visibility for Link-owned businesses, encourages intentional purchasing within the Links community, and demonstrates the collective economic impact of women who are building businesses, creating jobs, generating wealth, and strengthening communities across the nation. At a time when Black women entrepreneurs continue to launch businesses at one of the fastest rates in the nation, yet face persistent challenges in accessing capital, contracts, networks, and growth opportunities, the need for intentional economic collaboration has never been greater. Economic empowerment is not simply an aspiration—it is a necessity. As one of the nation's premier organizations of accomplished Black women, The Links, Incorporated, is uniquely positioned to lead by example. Emerald Wall Street serves as a catalyst for building generational wealth, strengthening Black-owned businesses, expanding economic opportunity, and demonstrating the collective power of intentional support within our communities. More than a directory, Emerald Wall Street has the potential to become is a movement. A movement that celebrates entrepreneurship, promotes economic collaboration, and creates pathways for sustainable business growth. It is our commitment to ensuring that the economic influence of Black women is recognized, amplified, and leveraged to create lasting impact for generations to come.
