Debra Sweeting is the Founder of Pathways After 18, an education and advocacy practice supporting teens and young adults with disabilities and diverse learning needs as they design a person-centered adulthood. A member of the Treasure Coast (FL) chapter, she equips families with educational resources for self-advocacy, civic participation, career readiness, and independent living. A graduate of Florida Partners in Policymaking with graduate studies in behavioral intervention in autism, she writes and teaches from lived experience and the conviction that disability and dignity belong in the same sentence.

Pathways After 18 supports teens and young adults with disabilities and diverse learning needs in designing a person-centered adulthood with the support of their parents through educational resources that promote self-advocacy, civic participation, career readiness, and independent living skills. Debra Sweeting writes from lived experience and is the author and creator of the Pathways After 18 Workbook and the Pathways to Adulthood children’s book created to help families prepare youth for adulthood with confidence and purpose.
